Nonstop Dance on TenduTV
Aug 5th, 2008 | By Blog Editor | Category: Adult Dancers, Dance Entertainment, Parents & Young Dancers, Young Adult DancersEven if you aren’t into some of the more popular dance shows like So You Think You Can Dance, or Dancing With the Stars, or Step It Up and Dance, you may find something you like on the new broadband television channel TenduTV. And you will find it on-demand, fee-free, day or night.
About TenduTV
TenduTV is a new broadband television channel dedicated to modern and contemporary dance and ballet. When you tune in, you’ll find video of performances by established and emerging choreographers and companies. And, you’ll also find documentaries on dance. TenduTV’s general manager Marc Kirschner said, “If we can provide any supplemental information on a piece that gives the viewer more of a chance to appreciate the work being performed, it’s good for the viewer and good for those who created the work.”
TenduTV is also planning some original series, including “DANCE+TECH.” Dance-Tech.net will produce the “DANCE+TECH” series, which will look at the innovative combination of dance, new media, and technology.
How to Watch TenduTV
TenduTV will play on several video platforms, including the new Tidaltv. On Tidaltv, you can watch scheduled programming, or you can choose from on-demand video content. Tidaltv is free and accessible to anyone with a fast Internet connection. And, you don’t need any special software to view Tidaltv–you watch right in your browser.
TenduTV should appear on additional video platforms in the future. So, even though Tidaltv is only available in the United States right now, hopefully you’ll soon see TenduTV on other broadband video platforms that reach the rest of the world.
The official website for TenduTV should have plenty of information up soon. If you’d like to start using Tidaltv now so that you’re familiar with the service by the time TenduTV launches, just after the end of summer, you can visit beta.tidaltv.com to start watching!
