Halloween Dance Events

Slasher movies and ghost stories are the obvious choices of entertainment during the Halloween season. But if you want to enjoy the holiday without quite so much blood, gore, and horror, check out some of these Halloween dance events.

Iowa Dance Theatre

Dracula, A Comedy Noir Ballet

For the 10th year, Iowa Dance Theatre presents Dracula, A Comedy Noir. This work follows Dracula, Lord of the Undead, as he searches for his bride. Befriended by bats and zombies, Dracula struggles between good and evil and life and death.

Each performance features a costume contest during intermission, and prizes will be awarded in several costume categories. Audiences attending the 3:00pm show can enjoy treats with the cast after the performance. And, audiences attending the 7:30pm show can enjoy a bite with Dracula at 6:30pm.

The The Palmer Arts Collaborative (PACo) Players present “Alice in Wonderland,” their 6th Annual Halloween Swing Dance and Show. This PACo performance of “Alice in Wonderland” features world-renowned guest choreographers Jamie Harrison, Suzanne Temple, Heather Gehring, Lou Brockman and Nathan Bugh, and it is set in the bayous of Louisiana. The show features the music of jazz legends Artie Shaw, Scott Joplin, and James Scott.

Costumes are encouraged, but not required. You can purchase tickets at the door.
