New “Dirty Dancing” Takes on US

Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story On Stage begins its US pre-Broadway tour on September 28, 2008 at Chicago’s Cadillac Palace Theatre. The show opened in Toronto, Canada in 2007, and before that it attracted London theatergoers.
After a limited engagement in Chicago, Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage will move to the East Coast, opening in The Boston Opera House on February 7, 2009. And in May 2009, the show’s official North American Tour begins at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.
Meant to Be Danced
Eleanor Bergstein adapted her film for stage after realizing that the story is really meant for live performance. You can read an interview with Bergstein at this link.
Learn Along With Baby
Throughout the rest of August, when you see Dirty Dancing in Toronto on a Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday
