Ballet Tech seeks three dancers for a new dance, “The Spaghetti Ballet,” a piece with music by Ennio Morricone. The new piece will be performed at the Joyce Theater for a two-week season from March 23, 2009 to April 5, 2009. Ballet Tech seeks “alert” dancers, both male and female. Ballet training would be useful. Wear ballet slippers (no pointe shoes).

VIA DANCE COLLABORATIVE kicks off its 5th Anniversy season with LULLABY IN SURREALISM beginning September 25 at Ailey Citigroup Theater. This new evening-length work inspired by the paintings of Renee Magritte is choreographed by Adrienne Westwood and features guest dancer Daniel Charon (best known as a dancer with Doug Varone).
LULLABY IN SURREALISM investigates the artists’ sleeping lives, harnessing the imagery of dreams and realizing those disparate, mystical, often alarming worlds onstage.

Produced by Ben Shaw, Project #9 explores the boundaries of contemporary dance in Brisbane. This show combines the work of both local and international choreographers and includes an original musical composition by nationally renowned composer Donald Hall.
This work tells the story of Emily Winters’ last day inside a lunatic asylum. Through choreography and technical effects, the audience explores the mind of a young woman who struggles with her own existence.
The Creative Development showing will take place on Saturday, September 27 in Woodward Theatre, QUT Kelvin Grove. Following the show, audience members are invited to participate in a Q&A session.
