These two artists formed Complexions Contemporary Ballet in 1994. After just one year, Complexions received the New York Times Critics Choice Award and began touring. Since then, the company has been praised for producing works that challenge artistic and cultural boundaries through contemporary ballet.

Both Rhoden and Richardson have performed with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and separately each has a long individual resume. Over the years, their work together has made Complexions a leading contemporary ballet company.

If you’ve never seen the work of Dwight Rhoden or Desmond Richardson, watch for their choreography on Wednesday night at 8/7c on Fox. Visit Complexions Contemporary Ballet’s site for more on Rhoden, Richardson, and their company.
