About DELIRIUM
DELIRIUM is about the human struggle with forces of reality and imagination. The show tells the story of “Bill,” a man who feels the isolation of our contemporary world. Through his attempts to combat detachment and feelings of abandonment in an urban world, Bill encounters characters who help him balance reality and imagination.
Although DELIRIUM mixes several types of performing arts, dance is a major part of the show. To get an idea of what you’ll see in DELIRIUM, you can check out some video clips at this link to Cirque du Soleil and at this link to DELIRIUM the film at The Hot Ticket.
“You know, it doesn’t matter what style of music you like or what you enjoy watching,” said Amanda Stott, a DELIRIUM singer from Manitoba, Canada. “I think that every person who comes and sees the show finds something that they can latch onto and really love about it.”Directed for film by David Mallet, DELIRIUM the film captures the final 2008 performance of DELIRIUM in London. The show features a cast of 36 performers: dancers, circus artists, musicians, athletes, and actors.
“The use of twenty cameras,” Mallet said, “allowed us to both capture the spectacular scale and nature of the show along with the incredible skill and intimate interaction of the fabulous Cirque du Soleil artists.”
About Cirque Du Soleil
Cirque du Soleil’s original performers, entertainers, and artists first joined together in Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec in 1982. They were street performers, and they wanted to create an entertainers’ festival.

Cartier’s arrival in Canada. Recognizing their talent, the government offered assistance and a performance opportunity to these entertainers. Through this opportunity, Cirque du Soleil formed.Cirque du Soleil debuted in Gaspe, in Quebec, and toured the province, reaching ten cities in their first year. The group’s performances combined street entertainment, circus arts, lighting, and original music.
By 1987, Cirque du Soleil was performing their first show “We Reinvent the Circus” in several West Coast US cities. By 1990, Cirque du Soleil was in Paris and London. After two more more years, and the creation of two additional shows, Cirque du Soleil opened in Tokyo, Japan.
